Star serves as the deputy legislative director to Los Angeles City Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell. She acts as the liaison to schools, parents and children on issues pertaining to education, health, and school safety. She is responsible for briefing and staffing the Councilmember on policy issues relating to education and neighborhoods.

Star worked on Councilmember O’Farrell’s campaign as a Field Coordinator with a primary focus on the Armenian community. Previously, she spent five years as a school Counselor, coordinating all services for students. She also coordinated the Gifted and Talented program, preparing its grant plan, identifying/recommending students, and conducting parent committee meetings. Star served as an English Learner Coordinator, reclassifying students and monitoring academic progress of reclassified students of an Independent Study School with LAUSD.

Star holds an M.S. in Counseling and Leadership and a B.A. in Political Science from UCLA.
